This is a type of bowl that is rare, and traditionally made in the Himalayan Region -- and is said to have originated in the Manipur area.
A Manipuri Bowl is characterized by it's shape, the side walls are low, in relation to the opening diameter of the bowl.
This made has been with a thick rim, and your future Manipuri Bowl will be approximately 5.75 inches in diameter -- and 2 inches deep. .
The tones are these bowls are bright, bell like -- and typically 4th to 5th octave. The sound sample we've shared with you here is an F in the 4th octave, and yours will vary according to the handmade and unique nature of these bowls!
